Headlight Restoration Tallahassee

Mobile Headlight Restoration Service

Are your headlights turning yellow, foggy, or cloudy? This is a process known as oxidation, and it occurs no matter where in the world you are! Overtime as your vehicle is exposed to the elements, your headlights will slowly begin to deteriorate and become less clear. This can have an effect on how much light is emitted from your headlights, thus effecting how well you see at night & how well others can see you. There are all kinds of cheap gimmick products out there which claim to restore your headlights, but if you’ve ever tried them then you know they don’t last! Our restoration process includes applying a longterm 3-5 year protectant to ensure results that last! The best part is, we come to your location to do it!  We now service Tallahassee, Havana, Crawfordville, Midway, & Quincy!

Ceramic Protection

After we wet sand, buff, & polish your headlights, we apply our 3-5 year ceramic protectant to ensure that the oxidation doesn’t return. The longevity of this coating varies based on how your vehicle is stored and maintained. Vehicles which are stored outdoors in direct sunlight, or that aren’t cleaned as regularly, can expect roughly 3 years out of their headlight restoration. Applications for vehicles which are garage kept and well maintained generally last 5+ years.

8 Stage Restoration Process

Our headlight restoration process is one of the most extensive and thorough restoration processes that is offered. We begin by cleaning the headlights with soap and water, removing any deeply embedded contaminants on each lens. We also mask off each lens to protect the surrounding paint & plastics. After this, we begin our wet sanding process which includes 7 steps of sanding using 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, & 5000 grit sand paper. We then polish each lens to perfection with our rotary buffer, and finish them off with our 3-5 year ceramic coating.

The Truth About Headlights

Not too long ago, headlight lenses were made of glass as well as other polycarbonate materials which were much more durable than the materials used by some automotive manufacturers today. Most modern headlights are capable of oxidizing after just a few years of ownership, and they can cost $300+ to replace with brand new lenses. Headlight restoration is a much more feasible option whenever you’re talking about an issue that is inevitable even after buying brand new replacements. While this is the case for most vehicles, there are some exceptions! In order to ensure you’re getting the best deal, we recommend looking at what the cost of replacement headlights for your vehicle is before booking an appointment to have your headlights restored.
